On Thursday, September 10, 2026, Kentuckians for Single Payer Health Care was there for the Medicaid Reality Check Listening Tour at the Consolidated Baptist Church in Lexington.

This was the first of the Medicaid events, sponsored by the Kentucky Senate and House Democratic caucuses, to hear from the public about the impact of the cuts that result from the federal legislation, HR 1. That bill will take $1 trillion from Medicaid over 10 years and will endanger 338 rural hospitals including 35 in Kentucky.
